Advocating for women and women's health care issues... Welcome to Women in Focus... Women physicians constitute over 30% of the local physician workforce. They face different kinds of challenges both in the workplace and in the home. To creatively face these obstacles and to work toward solutions to these issues, the Richmond Academy cultivates its commitment through our Women in Focus. We have over 75 members and are always expanding. The group meets three times per year to discuss innovative ways and new solutions to workplace, home, and health issues. Through its growing network of concerned professional, the Women in Focus helps women in medicine by advocating for women and women's healthcare issues. Some recent discussion topics have included: Breast Reconstruction; Menopause and Peri-Menopause; Medicine in Russia; and Your Hot Hormones. Additionally, the group is a co-sponsor of MCV's Women in Medicine Annual Conference.
